And in this case, that's a good thing. The toe-tapping retro cover of "Call Me Maybe," which sports an old-timey sepia filter and tinny audio quality, comes courtesy of Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox. And you can tell the band had a lot of fun with the cover song and video. Bradlee, on piano, tickles the ivories with aplomb as Adam Kubota rocks an upright bass and drummer Stanley "Chip" Thomas keeps time on the drums. And while Robyn Adele Anderson may not resemble the flapper-style associated with the roaring 20s, her breezy vocals tie the cover version's motif together perfectly. Bradlee and his band are no strangers to tackling new pop songs with an old-fashioned style. Two other standouts in the group's repertoire are a vintage version of Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" and a 'Kesha gone country' take on "Die Young," complete with a violin. Sign In.
